Sorry it took me so long to get back, but been busy. I when out last Friday the 3rd for a couple of hours. I did get to cutthrout's and a peamouth minnow
at a 13in. The trout where 6/7in.
As to the rod. I love the way it bends when you play a fish. It evenly bends to the handle and does have power to play a 15in fish. As for me as I said before.
I do fish for bigger fish and fish in big water, so I use 6 weights and alot of double hauling. So I want to punch the rod on the end of the...

That sounds great, thanks a lot Jeremy and John. I truthfully only wanted the 9' for the reach advantage it can give me when I fish the spring creeks in
PA, because right now things get a little tough with my 6'. But, fortunately for me I guess, I like a slower rod action.

I've casted it with a 2 and 3 weight line. I would use the 2weight for overhand not in much wind. I would use the 3weight for roll casting and casting in
the wind. It is a slow action and it took me a while to slow down and let the rod do the work. I like it alot. But everyone is different and it might not be
for you. I like longer rods so in tight places I can roll cast. I will be going out Friday morning and maybe Saturday. If I go I will give a report on the
fishing and the rod.

I understand where J is coming from. I've tried some really slow rods that didn't feel faster with a lighter line--they just quit working altogether.
I've also had some fast tapers that went from feeling fast to just feeling like the whole action collapses when overlined. I guess it's probably true
that most rods will handle a line weight heavier or lighter but it doesn't work with all of them.

That's one of the things I LOVE about this sport (obsession?) is that there are rod actions for everyone. I'm trending more towards slower and slower
rods all the time. If this Ultraweave turns out like I think it might, I might be selling off some rods and building more Ultraweaves to replace them.

Well, I love my honey Lami, it's a mid flex, and technically so is the 9' Dorber. The Lami just works for me though. It's throws tight loops and
has decent line speed.

These days though, I'm really liking med-fast rods.

OK.

I'd love for you to check out the Ultraweave somday to see what you think. I would bet that you wouldn't like it.

My initial take is that it is slower than some 'glass rods. Way faster (I meant SLOWER) than my vintage Fenwicks and more like my "honey" Lami.

David, something else too, is that I personally don't like the rods taper at all. Someone else may love it though. It's just not for me. I'm like

brett, the Dorber 9' 2wt is okay if you like a slower more relaxed casting action. I tend to prefer a quicker rod, so I sold the one I built to JOHN

The rod does cast a WF2F okay, but I thought it cast better with a WF3.
