This is the rod that's my Christmas present from my wife, and unfortunately, I won't be able to fish it (or even cast it) until Christmas. What I can
tell you is that it's a very sharp looking blank and the guy who built it up--Jim Little from SC--did a fantastic job! The grip is even nicer than my
Orvis 1wt, and the wraps look perfect. I got to wiggle it a few times before putting back in the tube and handing it over to my wife, and it feels great! The
finished rod weighs an amazing 1.15 oz!
It also came with a Dennison reel. I don't know anything about these except that they are very light. This one weighs 2.2 oz. It's got a friction drag both directions that doesn't appear to be adjustable, but it's certainly tight enough that line's not going to fall off. It's also nice and small--a pretty cool setup. Here's a pic next to my current smallest reel--the Orvis BBS I.
