TFO Finesse 1 weight or ? |
Lead | ||
|
Hello! I am new to the sit and am thrilled to find someplace devoted to UL fly fishing. I have a 2 weight ( Cabelas 6'6" PT , which I slow with a 3
weight line) and 3 weight ( Sage 376 SP) already, but am looking for a true 1 weight (or smaller) at a reasonable price. I have heard good things about the
TFO 6'9" 4 piece 1 weight and am curious if anyone has fished this rod? I have a BPS UL reel that I would like to pair with it and would welcome all
input toward my next rod purchase.
Thanks. Tom |

Tom,
Welcome to Ultralight fly Fishers! There should be someone to come along who's use the TFO one, but I have a no longer made Cabela's Clear Creek one seven footer. It's a dream on the creeks where I fish. Join us here on Sunday April 26 8pm when Rick Pope of TOF will be here to discuss his UL offerings and UL in general. Les |

Im new to this website and its very addicting but if your looking for a good 1 wt you cant go wrong with the TFO Lefty Kreh series I have the 2 wt 7,3" and for the price I think its the best deal if you want a fairly inexpensive rod at a great quility |

The other night Rick Pope from Temple Fork Outfitters was here in the chat room. Quite educational! One of the tidbits he revealed was that the 1 weight
Finesse will load up with only five feet of line outside the tiptop! That is with a 60 grain line.
There was a lot more about the 1 weight Finesse but that was what grabbed my attention. It's one thing to toss thirty feet of line but being able to load up and cast with five says "close in fishing" That all being said, I have the Cabelas Clear Creek which Les described and I love it! It's the rod that rides behind the seat of my truck. |

Hello everyone, just got back to Portland Oregon on Sunday,I miss the weather in Florida already, only in the upper 40s here, stopped by the local fly shop to
say HI to all and ended up with a TFO signature 6-0 2 weight nice little rod just couldnt resist because of the price. I am already preaching the ULTRA Light
flyfishing religion. Some interest was shown when I showed pics of some of the exotics I was able to catch in Florida Was invited to a Flyfishing club meeting
during the month of May, I will surely introduce the boys to this web site ...Paul

tengas, don't own the rod (6'2wt.), but have cast it and in my opinion it is more of a 3wt. than a 2. definitely a quick little rod.

Tengas,
I've got one, and I like it. But as everyone else mentioned, you could go as high as a 4WF and be happy. Les |

Tengas,
What sort of action are you considering in a 2WT? |

Older Orvis Superfines fit that bill too.

I have a 1 wt. 5' 6" li'l streamer that I really like. They sell for around $120.00 and the quality is great. No fancy paint jobs and reel seats
but just good working rods that are made in Arkansas. See Li'L Streamer thread.

tengas, i do own the tfo finesse 7'3" 2 wt. and it would definitely fit the bill for what you are looking for. the finesse 1wt. might even be a
little slower. the price is right too, even at full retail it's less than $200.

Tengas, I really like those Malaysian trout you guys have. Such an interesting fish. I can't help but wonder what it would like to handle them on a nice
2wt.

thanks jkurtz7,
i think it is the best on 1wt or 2wt for graphite and 3/4 weight for fiberglass.. mind is a fiberglass 5/6 and still its a good bend of rod... here are the pic....
mostly in malaysia we used a fiberglass fly rod for our streams...do visit here in our forum for more details... http://malaysianflyrodders.proboards.com/index.cgi? |
