The triploid bluegill very hitting often and hard, with a few bass mixed in. I had Jerry try my refinished Sears glass 6 weight. It is very smooth. I kept the original seat and decal, re-shaped and sealed the grip, and replaced the original 5 guides with 8 new. The big change was a real stripper to replace the original snake. I matched the thread colors to the brown in the decal.
I also tried out my new 6611 bamboo. I have it lined with a 4, but Jerry could easily have cast a 3 on it, as it is faster than my taste. It has a two-tone, 1 piece bamboo grip and seat with NS hardware.
The last rod I fished was Rob's recent purchase. I set it up with a reel and line for a final shakedown. It fished nicely with a WF2 Sylk, but I can cast a WF4F 70 feet with the same rod. Very versatile rod.
Jerry had out his new TXL 00, which is faster than I like. Jerry casts it very well and it handled all fish nicely. I joked that I would fit it with a 1.6 ounce Forbes and a 1 weight line to slow it down, but that is me.
Great couple of hours. These urban ponds can be a blast.
Don

Actually Don didn't bond with this rod at all. Seems like anything I think is just right is too fast for Don, and anything Don thinks is perfect is too
slow for me. We have a little common ground in the
