And the river looked beautiful. The Little Darby is one of five "Outstanding Warm Water Habitat" streams in the state. It's very healthy!

We caught a few of these...
The bug life in the riffles is rich. Here is a mayfly nymph and a water penny, an aquatic beetle larva that only can live in extremely clean water...
We fished hard for smallmouth. Jeremy tried some serious high-sticking with a crayfish imitation.
But the smallmouth were spooky and tough. A couple came to hand...
Including one nice fish that bent the 2-wt TFO Finnesse to the cork...
A really nice chunk...
