That day I had my best luck with olive #10 woolly buggers. I was hoping to catch a few of these guys today but even though I saw dozens of them, they were not biting very aggressively and I wasn't able to hook any.
These are pretty fish but I'm beginning to think they are more prone to parasites than other fish as I've seen several that had "water fleas" or small wounds that look to have come from them and one with a few with small leeches on it. Meanwhile, in the same water the long ears, greenies, and bass all look healthy without any of these parasites on them. I don't think it is limited to the creek I fish as I've seen people post other pics of Rios that have the wounds on their scales that also appear to be from water fleas.
