I have been piecing together a loner/car rod. The rod is a Cabelas LST 8'3" 3wt.
The reel is a Lamson 1.5 konic. Nice for a 3 or 4wt. (and the price is right) a little heavy for anything under a 3wt.
The line wf3f Hook and hackle. I will NEVER buy this line again. This is the noisiest, slowest, grittiest line I have ever used. I had to single or double haul to cast the line 15-30 feet. I have a dt3f line over a year old (never cleaned) that out performs this line all day long. I have a $13.00 Wal-mart line that casts 100 X better than this line. With everyone that talks about this line, I wander if I got a bad line? I did treat the line with Umpqua Glide and the die from the fly line came off on the rag. After the treetment I was able to lawn cast about 30 feet with out hauling, so maby I can salvage this line.

Who has ever heard of conditioning your NEW fly line????? Very
disapointing.
