I understand he ate it...smaller gills are sooo much better....I am a advocate of c&r...buttt, I am afraid I would have put that baby on the wall....and
not a replica...selfish, yep...fraid so...It should have been returned to breed more like her/him..I have great ethics when it comes to c&r...but, I would
have succumbed to bad Rob on that one......Rob

Since Junior Samples ate a world record bass and displayed the head for proof....I've been skeptical of those North Georgia folks. :) Junior's bass
head turned out to be a grouper. :) I wouldn't bet your 401K on it weighing 5 pounds. The Georgia record is four pounds something; the South Carolina/world
record is 5 pound 7 ounces. I'm not sure any other state has produced a 5 pound red ear or shellcracker as we like to call them in the southeast. Then
again, anything is possible.

I may have gotten the location wrong...I will try to confirm..It may have been SC since you quoted the 5/7and this one was supposed to be just 3 oounces
shy...but, none the less, one heck of a Gill!!!
