Okay, the water is warm to hot now and the bass are slowing down a bit. Fewer fish are in shallow water, and they are not as active. If you had a spinning rod,
you would throw a worm or jig along the bottom. But, since you have a 3 weight, what do you do? How do you get deep? What is your searching technique for fish
that are suspended down where the water is cold? Or, do you just say the heck with it and catch the little guys in the shallows?

I use tungsten beadheads and jigheads to get deeper and do more fishing in the evenings when the sun is off the water. I don't fish big lakes though, where
the fish can get really deep.

Little guys in the shallows. Early and late otherwise, as Jerry says. Mostly late as I am not up early and have a low frustration tolerance for special efforts
just to go fishless. I like poppers after the sun is gone. The rod must be capable of throwing a popper without visual clues though. I sometimes employ Czech
nymphing with the fly suspended at 90 degrees to a short furled leader. Don

i fish bigger lakes with deeper water in the last 2 weeks fishing has become slower .you have that first hour bite then it's over till the evening seems
like ...we are getting a full moon now and i feel some gills and bass can be had after dark fishing .. i'm going to try it a few night's this comming
week ..i was out this morning before daylight toss'n a #4 boogle bug with my 8 weight and caught 3 nice gill's way before daylight on the larger
popper .which tells me perhap's a warm water pattern maybe there at night when the water get's hot ..not to mention the lake is super clear and the
fish are some what spooky ..
