My girlfriend recently told me that I will be receiving the Hardy Aln for my birthday and I was wondering (J I think you will know best) what would be a good
line/reel to match up with this? I have a JA Forbes 2" Avon, will this match well? Any help would be great. Thanks a lot Brett

Brett, the Forbes will work fine. The line I tried on the Aln was the Hook & Hackle WF2 and it cast that line pretty good. The Aln is a short range affair,
since it's only 5 feet long, and it may take you a little time to get used to. Nice rod though, with all the typical Hardy appointments.

Thanks a lot J! I really appreciate the input. I think I'm going to go with the Cortland Sylk DT2F line though. It seems like a perfect match (on paper)!

Brett, I haven't tried the Sylk lines yet, so many mixed reviews about it keep me from pulling the trigger. I am a Cortland guy though, so one day I'm
just gonna have to buy one.
