Hello, its been awhile since posting anything on here. I have been fishing my 5 and 6wts mainly over the past several weeks but today I took the lami 6.5'
3wt. I was planning on just fishing for redbreast but had several nice surprises this evening.
The redbreast are in spawning colors and are so much fun with an ultralight rod and poppers.
I was catching lots of little Smallmouth mixed in when I got this largemouth in about a foot of water. It surprised me for it to be in this part of the river.
After probably 15-20 redbreast, I put on a larger popper and decided to see how the lami would handle some stronger fish.
These smallies were a good workout for the rod and click pawl reel in river current. Wish I could have gotten a few picts of the rod bent almost double.
Quite a night! 5 smallies over 16" with the largest at 19" and the lami handled them like a champ.
